There is an Administrative Utility Excel Add-in for server maintenance. I need for that to exist for "normal" RE users.
Quote "With this tab, you can select ad-hoc queries, data lists...from the program to pull data from your database into a spreadsheet. You can then use the tools in Excel to perform calculations on the data and adjust the presentation. The data from the program is live, which means it is refreshed automatically each time you open the spreadsheet and you can also refresh it manually. In addition, you can send the spreadsheet to application users with access to the records in the program, and the data is still live, even if they have not installed the add-in."
I get so tired of re-exporting queries and reformatting spreadsheets every time data is updated--which is to say frequently. Why cannot this add-in trickle down to the user? And yes, I've already asked tech support--it does not already exist.
This Add-in is for Blackbaud CRM.
However it shouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility to have a similar add-in for RE. I have been messing around with my own Excel add-in connecting to directly to the SQL back end and have managed to cut down on a few time consuming tasks. Why can't Blackbaud just provide us with a RE version of this?
