Personally I would settle for just updating the compatability of the system to more recent versions of Crystal. Something made in the last 5 years would be nice. I think the program has gotten more User friendly in recent iterations, but you can't use them to make reports that everyone can access in RE.
Yes, an update would be good but I suspect Crystal is just reflecting the complexity of database report writing. What would be useful for me is the ability to link directly with RE stored queries.
Crystal reports is a great piece of software, Business Objects, SSRS and most other good report writing software are just as tricky to get the hang of - and in some cases a lot harder and less user friendly.
If this is something BB were to stop supporting then this could cause a lot of people problems - I personally have designed reports that have taken me 10 hours plus.... I don't really have the motivation to redesign these using another software package.
I like Crystal Reports and the RE support has been great. I would like to see the Custom Report screen updated to include Query (used in Export) and Notes.

Don't ever take away the flexibility we have with CR, please. But add more fields to the export options!

Definitely something more recent such as BusinessObjects, which SAP also makes.

Keep Crystal Reports but add another option. Also - if you are proficient in Access, you can create reports, etc with RE data.
Jet Reports is a great reporting tool.

I heard that Data Driven from O-Matic is also another good product to use instead of Crystal Reports.
