annual statement report allocations are wrong

Payment allocations are wrong on split gifts and split pledges in reports - pledge reports, annual statement reports.
Example $1200 gift:
$1000 fully tax deductible to fund x
$200 not fully tax deductible to fund y
On the annual statement report, the tax deductible amounts do not show up as they are entered on the gift, which is confusing. Together the two lines are correct, but the way it is split on the report is not coming from the gift record.
Same type of thing on the outstanding pledge reports. In a split pledge, with a partial payment, the portion outstanding on the pledge report is not coming from the portion that is outstanding in the gift record.

Although they state that the ANNUAL STATEMENT REPORT is designed correctly, we still need a report that will show the RECEIPT AMOUNT that is reflected in the gift record because the reports we run at year end does not reflect the correct total for the donor.

Would be nice if it reported the way users expect. Had this issue also, was told it's how RE is programmed. One of the main reasons I rarely use split gifts. :)

I agree, this is very misleading and our donors call about it when they receive the annual statement. Also, the incorrect pledge reports must be explained to our auditors causing even more confusion.

This is also a problem in queries - if you try to output the "Total Gift Amount" summary, and add a filter for Campaign/Fund/Appeal, then the gift total calculation uses the total gift amount for each split, instead of using the split amount. This is a known issue since 12/20/2004.

In order for the statement to show the total amount for the "over $100" donation, I had to remove the split gift function and run an individual report and then go back in and split the gift again. Too many steps for something that should be simple.
