ratings

To export specific ratings rather than all ratings of a certain source or a specified number of ratings in hierarchical order, add one more level below the source in the export module. This would eliminate the one-to-many issue in exporting ratings found on the Prospect tab.

It is utterly ridiculous that this isn't an option. I understand that it works in NXT, but the "lists" feature of NXT is pathetic compared to query and export in database view; they're not even close to the same thing. I can't get nearly as much data via lists as I can with an export.

Almost 10 years and I guess not enough interest to make this happen? Being able to export the most recent rating would save me a lot of time over exporting all ratings and then moving and deleting some to end up with one set of columns that has only the fields for the most recent ratings. Constituency codes can be moved up or down in their lists so that the code at the top of the list becomes the primary. Why not do the same with ratings?

Our work around was to add part of the category to the source name.

Amazingly it is even a problem with the new NXT ratings. There needs to be a fix!!

Changing the status of this idea to Voting Open because it's been reviewed. While not currently planned, this will remain open for voting and future consideration as a change.

As noted in previous comments, additional filtering is available in RE NXT Lists, which hopefully meets the need for some users. Please note that this idea represents specifically expanding the filter options within Export for ratings in RE7/database view.

Disappointed to see this issue hasn't been addressed in 20 years. So much for Blackbaud listening to us...

Any update on this issue? When are we going to see a solution for this major problem with ratings? NXT filtering is great, but many of us still use database view for robust exports. Please fix!

I'm new to NXT and ratings, and am glad this post exists.  I thought I was doing it wrong, exporting ratings incorrectly.  Now I know to just give up.  Thanks.

At least 5 Different Ideas and 100's of votes related to this in the bank.  Is this ever going to happen?  If not please just tell us so that we can set up a different protocol.

    Hello, Blackbaud?

It's amazing to me that this hasn't been fixed. I realize that it is probably corrected in NXT, but not all of us are on that platform yet. Because of this problem, we don't use the syncing feature at all.

Specifically, for us (and probably for most others), we need to be able to export, for example, JUST the "Major Giving Capacity - WP"... which is a Rating Category. RE only allows us to set the export criteria by Rating Source, which similar to the way attributes exported several years ago (until it was fixed, praise God), exports out multiple columns in no sortable order. It's a headache to say the least.

We needed to be able to pull in some of the Prospect Rating Descriptions into an export for a targeted solicitation letter, and of course, we couldn't do it. Here's the workaround we used: Create a query for Min Ask Amounts from NXT (or whatever rating description you're trying to pull into an export), where the criteria Category is Minimum Ask Amount - NXT and the Prospect Rating Description is <ask>. Then, do a Globally Add Records to add an Action to the selected records from the query you just created. In Action Information, choose an Action Type called Min Ask - NXT (you'll have to set this up in Config > Tables as one of the Action Types); in Notes, create a Notepad with Type "NXT Rating" (you'll have to add that Notepad Type in Config > Tables, as well), and in Description, write the dollar amount for each individual level that NXT gives you ($1.00, $251.00, $501.00, etc. - only do one of these at a time, though! You'll need a new Global Add for each level.). Save and Close and add the Action to the selected records. The query will then run, and ask you to specify the Prospect Rating Description. Here you specify the dollar amount you typed into the Description, and you'll need to format it exactly as it appears in the database. Now there is a new Action in everyone's records that should exactly mirror the description in Prospect Ratings. You can set up an export to include Actions > Type > Notepad Description (change column name to Min Ask - NXT, and choose the Action Type of Min Ask - NXT that you set up. The ratings now export under a column called Min Ask - NXT, and you can use them in a letter. A tedious workaround, but it works.

Being able to filter your ratings export by Category is absolutely essential. If I can't get the ratings information out, what's the point of even entering it in? It's pathetic that Blackbaud designed something with such limited functionality.  Do they actually consult with fundraisers before they start programming? I'm with Christine--I'll have to build out the Source table to include Category information.  I was hoping that this issue might have been fixed since our previous capital campaign, which ended in 2013.

Currently exporting specific ratings to review is pretty much impossible and seriously dimishes the value of the data purchased through Target Analytics. This issue is critical to those using the Prospect module and Target Analytics information.
