Disply state abbreviations in Query results without affecting other table codes

Please allow us to change to short or long table codes in query output individually rather than globally in Raiser's Edge. Currently the solution given from support for exporting state abbreviations is to change the setting and export the state abbreviations to excel and then go back and change the setting again and export the rest of the file and then manually merge the two excel files. It would be nice to have the option to set to display state abbreviations in query results without affecting all the other table code entries as well.

    I agree - as no one uses Australian states using the long description for any mailings, it is disappointing to find out that the "long descriptions are hardcoded into the database" and cannot be changed - this means you can't export the short descriptions for states directly from queries.

    The BB solution is to change user settings for code tables but this affects ALL code tables including countries, so it is not a solution.

    Please allow the ability to select the short description for Australian states codes tables in queries.
