We use attributes to group our gifts in ways on which we need to report. But the attribute is the grouping tool and by requiring the description field to have data when building the report, it makes that field useless to us. We can't use it to differentiate between the gifts if it has to be the same in order to exclude that attribute. We'd need to keep a list of all the descriptions we used in gift entry to include them all when suppressing based on that attribute. Ideally we just leave the description blank.
