The "Annual Statement Report" is a standard report provided in Raiser's Edge. The report parameters can be set to pull the data by GL Post Date. Surprisingly, GL Post Date cannot be displayed in the report (The report is set to display only the Gift Date).

From the users perspective, my guess is that most users who run the Annual Statement Report and pull the data by GL Post Date would like to see the GL Post Date in the output.
