Need more decimal places for stock gifts, and more characters for "Issuer Symbol" field

When our broker sends us the median price of stocks, it is sometimes three decimal places instead of two. We also sometimes receive mutual funds that have a longer symbol than the 4 characters allowed in the field.

Yes, we need more character space in the symbol, and to be able to go out to three decimal places, instead of two. Stock is often sold this way.

While we're at it...the ability to post fractional units of stock would be nice as well. Right now if someone gives us, say, 20.5 units of stock (it happens), I can't enter that into the Stock Details without generating an error message.

And yes--please extend the max character string for the issuer field!

Wow - this suggestion was logged in 2014. This seems like a quick fix that would clear up a lot of issues. C'mon Blackbaud - let's move this one along!

We also receive mutual funds that have a longer symbol than the 4 characters allowed and the share amount often includes a fraction of a share. I would like for BB to solve this issue. Thank you.

This is a problem for us too. We accept gifts of mutual fund shares, but if you want to see the full stock ticker, you have to dig into the electronic copies of the gift documentation. You can't query/export the information and rely on it. This is a problem in itself, but will become increasingly burdensome as we have additional systems we utilize too. We're unable to keep the systems exactly aligned with information because of the character limitation of the issue symbol field and the decimal issue of the median price.
