There are times I would like to see folders in Mail. As we continue to use RE, the lists in Donor Acknowledgement Letters, Receipts etc have gotten really long - even with removing ones no longer in use. Option for folders there would be nice, too.
This is a great idea. I was about to make the same suggestion. I was away from RE for about a year, but was pleasantly surprised when I started using it again and discovered the new feature.
Could we hear more details on this please? How would folders be helpful in Batch? I realize everyone uses Batch differently, but for us we use each batch once, very rarely if ever go back into a batch, and have no need to organize old batches. If anything we should be deleting our old batches after a certain amount of time. The "only show batches not committed" checkbox is enough for us to keep things organized. There are three votes on the line. :)
For us, I am very hesitant to delete batches as records were not at all well kept by any of my predecessors - i.e. deletion of gifts in records. So, there is a need for us to keep all the batches. I have a variety of batches - committed, open, constituent and batches used for testing purposes. It would be ideal to be able to sort it all into folders.
An additional business case: We have batches for different types of payroll deductions and it would be nice to have a folder for each type. I do realize there is the option to do recurring batches, but with some of them we have a new batch each time we process.
We have batch templates set up for different functions. online event registrations, online gifts, recurring efts, checks, pos credit card charges etc so I would find folders very helpful.
Kudos for adding at least one level of folders for batches. Love being able to have templates, recurring batches, current year, past year in their own spots. Makes it much easier to find those templates. :)
Export folders are coming in 7.92 at the end of March (2012) -- but I will keep this open for batch!

Export folders did get added in 7.92, but they should be added in Batch.

I would like to keep the batch templates I use in a folder so I do not accidentally delete them when I do my quarterly cleanup.
I would love folders in Batch. We have three different offices using one database and keeping the different templates would be wonderful.
LOVE my export folders!

This should be broken into two ideas - one for Export (to be marked completed) and another for Batch.

I hope that the functionality of all "folders" is updated while you are releasing this in the 2013 release as suggested here -> http://rediscovery.uservoice.com/forums/137015-raiser-s-edge-discovery-topics/suggestions/3735995-fix-highlight-issues-with-drag-and-drop-in-query-f
You're good people :)
