Event mobile app

We just started using the event mobile app and I love the integration that is built in. But, we really wish we could see more info on the registrants. It would be great if we could confirm the address/phone/email (on the right side would be great). We also would like to see the menu choice and the table the person is seated at. We are going to have to have a paper copy to provide that info to guests when it should be listed on the app.

Adding a comment to support my vote of this idea. All of the ideas presented here are exactly what this app needs in order to be a truly useful tool. It is so close, but really needs:

    - display of these critical fields (registration fees and guest of)

    - improvements of the search and ability to filter the participants according to registration status

    - ability to edit records

    - speed

I have a few more suggestions -- perhaps it would be best to create a new suggestion, but here goes...

    1. When the keyboard comes up it is hard to see the search bar. You have to scroll up each time.
    2. The search bar needs an x button. You have to backspace to the beginning to clear the search.
    3. You cannot scroll down through the entire list of names. If we entered a blank search to get all the names, we could only scroll through to the F names.
    3. Table numbers--we renamed some sponsor tables or whole tables purchased. But when looking at the participant you only see the table name, not the number.
    4. Search looks for exact names. It doesn't check a constituent's nickname. Robert Jones walks up and tells you he is bob jones. Staff puts in bob, they cant find him.
    5. You cant look up a table. Or sponsor's guests.
    6. It would be nice to be able to filter out people who are already checked in to speed up the process.
    7. You cannot edit participants. We found out about a switch or a name we had misspelled. You can't edit it from the app.

Really, the event app needs to have all of the functionality of the events module in the full computer based RE. All it serves as right now is a checklist for marking whether people attend or not. I can do that on a printed list. If it is really going to be useful, you need to be able to view and edit all of the participant information, including seating charts and registration units, see full payment info including who paid, etc...you need to be able to make changes on the fly when someone shows up in place of someone else. Also the app only lists registered participants. What if you're doing an event that doesn't have rsvps? Being required to register your entire invite list just to get them to show up doesn't make sense. Different organizations use each field differently. Everything needs to be available to view and edit. As it is, the app is useless and I need to bring a laptop.

I used the app again the other night, I noticed a few more things.

The app kept jumping back to the beginning of the scroll, so it made it extremely tedious to register couples when I could see the names next to each other and after I checked one in it would go back to the top making me have to scroll/search again.

It can be SLLLOOOOOW. If the app is slower than paper, then we can't use the app. We have an event and out doors are rushed during the first 30-60 minutes, given what I've seen the couple of times I've used it, this would only slow me down.

Could we set up the app to scan membership cards and/or tickets?

I also don't like that if you add someone to the event from the app it adds them as a constituent as well.

Yes, we used it the other night at an opening event and it was pretty great, but we really need the ability to have a few more fields to show on the app. Seating notes would be very helpful. We have a few different levels of check-in, so having seating notes or registration fees and unit would be great.

More information would be extremely helpful - we have a number of situations where a father and son are both participants in an event and live at the same address - we are unable to determine which is which. Class year, email address and phone numbers would be extremely helpful.
