Donna, I would like to see Blackbaud solve this problem as well.

Our organization is trying to clean up our Volunteer Module and one thing we need to do is merge many old volunteer Job records into one new volunteer Job record. Discovering that Job records cannot be merged has caused many problems.

At this point, we're thinking we will have to go manually into each record and swap out the old Job record with the new one that we would like to take it's place. We anticipate this taking a really long time and being a very tenuous project. This isn't a great use of our time, but we need these changes to be made in Raiser's Edge so that we can be more efficient with reporting, tracking volunteers, etc.

Seems like a really basic system function that is essential to volunteer job management and would be a great feature in the volunteer module.
