I recognize that inventory management is not part of the core of the BB model, but have you ever thought of developing an inventory module that seamlessly integrates with RE and FE?  There could also be an extension of the module to automate a webstore environment, which would also integrate with RE, FE and LO.  We currently are using Counterpoint for inventory and Magento for web, but it would be a lot easier to have an entire "package" with BB that was automated and seamlessly connected.
