If I enter a gift into batch and Raiser's Edge knows there is another gift on this constituents record with the same date and amount, it would say "There is another gift matching this date and amount on this record, is this a duplicate?"  When you have several people who enter gifts, it would be helpful to make sure a gift is not accidentally entered twice.
