Add campaign, fund and appeal categories to filters on reports/exports
Ever add new campaigns, funds or appeals and then have to find all queries, exports, etc. where you need to go in and add these new ones to your filters? If you categorize your campaigns, funds, and appeals you should be able to use them to filter. When selecting one of these for a filter you should be able to either choose specific ones or an entire category. Then when you add new C/F/A records with those categories they automatically get included in those reports, campaigns, and exports. HELLOOOOOOOO. Not all reports allow you to filter on a query and a query should not be necessary for something so simple like this.

I also find that this is a problem when combined with only having "include all" or "include selected" as options in filtering. Because "exclude selected" is not an option, I often have to work around this by using "include selected" then selecting everything but. Then when new funds, appeals, or campaigns are added, I have remember to update the filters FOR EVERYTHING! So often we are running a report that isn't coming out right and find that this is the culprit.
We have fund categories set up. For Example we have all the Endowed Scholarships entered with their own fund. The category would be “Endowed Scholarships”. If we could just select fund category of Endowed Scholarships it would be more efficient then selecting the individual endowed scholarships with the chance of missing one or two. I would like this in both Reports and Exports and anywhere else there is an option to select funds. It is already available in Query.
I have been saying this for about 8 years now. Sad that this topic only has 19 votes as of today. Need help drumming up business for this idea.
Great idea! Also, it would be nice just to be able to have the categories on the reports themselves. It's on the appeal summary list, but not on the campaign or fund summary list.
