When we have an event, we may have guests that are not known to our organization and we have no legitimate reason for adding to the database at that time. However, the non-constituent guest may become active with our organization at a later date, perhaps due to attending the event as a guest. It would be helpful if we could search on that guest's name in the Constituent search field, and it would pull up the Constituent/Registrant's name in the results, similar to when you search on a non-constituent spouse's name.  That way, we would know that this "new" constituent has actually interacted with us before, and we can make that guest into a full constituent record instead of adding a brand new constituent.
