Allow Query to Compare Raisers Edge Fields

I need to compare two Raisers Edge field, e.g., Gift Amount and Receipt Amount, so that I can determine if they are equal or not. This request is driven directly by the critical business need to ensure that donors are receiving properly receipted-amounts.

However, there is no way to make this comparison directly within the Query interface. Instead, the data must be exported and compared via Excel in order to identify any exceptions.

Although this is one example where I need to compare 2 Raisers Edge fields, there have been other instances where this comparison would be extremely useful such as in comparing dates in and between records.

    This is exactly the suggestion I came here to make! I've been wishing for that ability for years in queries or reports. It would add so much functionality. Comparing the fields you mentioned would be helpful, as well as summary fields for gifts, or the dates, amounts, etc. of one attribute vs. another.

    Here are some practical examples:

    Discerning which/how many constituents gave more this year using one giving method vs another
    Identifying who made their first gift before they became a member
    Comparing constituents' gift dates to the date of a particular action on their record

    I have had 2 situations pop up recently.

    1. gifts made after deceased date, but not having to enter each date and run it one by one - being able to just have it look for gifts in the whole database that have been made after the death dates in each record

    2. Not being able to pull a first or last gift to a particular campaign - in the output, not the criteria - actually I guess this is different, but I'll put it here too and also look for that separately
