Create a single, centralized repository for uploading merge letters to Raiser's Edge. It is outrageous to have to upload an updated merge letter 4+ times to be able to be able to access it from different areas of RE. A single repository that allows users to select where and how it is implemented would greatly increase efficiency.
Yes!!!!
Changing the status of this idea to Voting Open because it's been reviewed. While not currently planned, this will remain open for voting and future consideration as a change.
Please! It is time consuming to edit the letters in multiple places.
I should not have to copy and paste (and reformat my entire letter because you can't update off of windows 7....) when it already exists in the database!! I should not have to add it to 2 places to use the same letter. So frustrating.
With 270 votes and 24 comments why hasn't this been considered? The whole process of setting up and amending letters in RE is not user friendly.
This would also imply a single, universal "language" for the headers, perhaps unless otherwise specified. If that means users encounter fields that do not apply, that is a much more favorable problem.
Also the formatting. I have been informed that the formatting of the first letter will default all of the below letters codes. None of our letters are exactly the same and we have 3 different regions that want to do different formats.
This is covered better in http://rediscovery.uservoice.com/forums/137015-raiser-s-edge-discovery-topics/suggestions/3021219-centralize-letters
When a letter is added into Config> Letters> Gifts, it would be nice for a conditional mail merge in Mail> Donor Acknowledgement Letters to be able to access that same letter template for that specific letter code.
Amen!
I concur with Melissa's Amen!
The current process of needing to set up the letters in multiple areas is very time consuming. Amen to one place for letters.
I agree. There should be a way to have the same headers for letters. It is a pain to have to create several versions. It is hard to explain it to others that do not know the process.
Yes, please!!!
Also to be able to edit these letters outside of the Mail function. This is especially irksome with Acknowledgement Letters when all gifts are marked as acknowledged and you have to falsely mark a gift as not acknowledge just to edit the letter.
Letter templates should be accessible to create, edit, mark inactive and/or delete from configuration. It is not logical that you can only edit letters from the back end. Mail and configuration need to be linked and talk to one another.
Ugh, yes!
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Absolutely agree, and especially that they be able to be edited directly from configuration, not just by faking a gift and going through the receipting process.
A basic database tool is to allow editing of letters within the system. There are comments all over the web and users very disgruntled that this is not a basic function. I cannot believe that RE does not offer this option since eTapestry does as a standard tool. Please fix!
