Create an option so all future batches can use a custom template by default without having to set the "use existing batch" each time
Currently, if you want a batch to use a custom template you have to tell the batch through the Tools option to use a template and you have to do this for every batch. I find the default Raisers Edge batch template to have to many columns. I feel it is silly there is no option in RaisersEdge to change the default batch templates to something I create and have all future batches just use that by default!

I like it! 90% of our batches use same template. Would love to have that as default. Then keep option to load from existing for the other 10%.
I agree - this would save us some valuable steps (and time) as we load all our batches from a designated batch
This would be very useful (although I can't see how you create a batch template, apart from naming it as such).
You create batch templates through batch design. You can them save that custom designed batch and use it for batch processing.
