Auto-populate packages on batch
When entering gifts on batch it is extremely cumbersome to have to choose the package each and everytime. I suggest that if someone has received a specific package (so is in a specific segment) that in batch this field will auto-populate with that package. It would have an option for selecting a differnet package if neccessary. This would save a huge amount of time and energy!
This is also really important to us. We're starting with a new mail house that is helping us segment. There are lots of segments and it's a waste of a lot of time if, every time she enters a gift (batch or individually), she has to go to the appeals tab and figure out which package that donor received.
Yes I agree this would save me a huge amount of time too!
It's more than just time savings. I didn't realize the packages didn't auto-populate, so when I was looking at the detail results of last year's YEA before planning this year's, I discovered that no $ amounts were marked in Appeals - and the donors had not "responded" - so according to that, our appeal was a bust. If the package is attached to the appeal "outbound" but not to the gift "inbound", it's as if the person never responded. That's pretty stupid. It seems to me you should be able to say that if the gift matches the appeal, the default is to also attach the package. There should be an option to change it, but the default should take care of 99% of the incoming gifts. It needn't be included in the batch at all, or coded onto the response form.
Not just in Batch. I would love to enter a gift directly on a Constituent Record and have RE either sort the Assigned Appeals with those on this constituent's record at the top or do a pop up (without me having to create a Business Rule, which I've done before, but is sort of a pain) like when a constituent has a pledge balance or active recurring gift. Then the same with Package, once the Appeal is selected, the Package dropdown should somehow indicate which Package is assigned to the constituent (either it's bold or at the top...like Gift Constituency).
