Sort Queries by Date and have the Dates show CHRONOLOGICALLY, not sequentially

I find it strange that when a date is selected as crtieria for sorting data in a query, the dates show up in sequential order, not chronological order (ie: 8/10/14 is listed before 8/2/2014).

It seems to me that a "quick fix" to this problem would be changing the formatting of the dates in the system. Instead of the date appearing as 8/3/2014, program it so that it appears as 08/03/2014. I believe this will fix the problem.

    I am not sure what you are talking about but if you are referring to some date fields that are actually "fuzzy date" fields, (not all info is required - such as you can add just month and hear or just year) that is because the field format is not date, it is text and that is how text fields sort. Not something that is likely going to ever change.

    All real dates should show up chronologically.
