I'm working on a security overhaul of Raiser's Edge, and there are a couple of limitations I've run into.
* I can run a list of groups or a list of users, but I can't run a list of all the groups with all the users.
* I need to be able to exert finer control over my users - the categories are helpful, but some users belong to five or more groups and it becomes a REAL headache to find out if their rights are good or not (because of the interplay between groups).
* The listed groups are icons that cannot be sorted. That's a pain as well.
* Finally, it would be really, really helpful if there was a 'sort by name' option for user's groups. If I open a user, the groups appear but their groups are listed and I have to manually sort if I need to see their permissions in alpha order.
* There needs to be a way to visually designate deactivated users (or people with no group permissions and that are not supervisors) from current, active users.
There is some good functionality and reporting in RE, but it does seem...halfway baked out, I guess...we're working on an overhaul of our security and some of these things would really make my life a lot easier.
Thanks!
Without Integration of Security Groups to external sources like Azure AD, something like this is needed to support regular audit against other employee management systems.
I agree. I need to be able to export a list of all current RE users, whether they are logged in or not, so that I can create an Outlook RE users group. I do not want former users. We have a lot of user groups and it is inconvenient to have to click on every single group one-by-one.
Sorry - this one:
"* The listed groups are icons that cannot be sorted. That's a pain as well."
is referring to the groups are icons when I need them to be a simple list instead. Tracking the icons is a headache.
Sorry about the confusion there!
