Ability to Prevent Editing of Specific Fields in Gifts

We would like for there to be a way to limit users’ access when editing fields of gifts/donations. For example, we want to put in place controls that prevent users from changing data, specifically the date and dollar amount of gifts. A functionality within The Raiser’s Edge that will stop someone from putting in a earlier date before the current date would be helpful.

    You currently can limit people from changing gifts by removing their gift edit rights. I am not sure the description above is a good example but I want people to have the right to go in and check a gift as acknowledged and add an acknowledged date without changing anything else on the gift. Also I would like them to be able to link a gift to an event or proposal without being able to edit anything on the gift.
