Naming opportunities are used to encourage large donors to give to capital campaigns, and right now there is no dedicated functionality to capture the info. Using attributes is not sufficient. Given the high importance of such gifts and need for flawless stewardship of such donors, RE should have a way to record the info such as exact wording on building sign or plaque, special notes, publicity, groundbreaking/ribbon-cutting and related events etc., and associate it with the actual naming gift.
There are a lot of ways to use RE to handle these situations. At a previous job, we set up organization records for each named space, and then used the Notes, Attributes, Events and Relationships tabs to track detailed information.
I have heard that others make use of the Tribute tab or the Event tab alone, to track their naming opportunities. There are some LinkedIn threads discussing options as well. Let me know if you want to talk more about how we used it.
