Mmmm, interesting thought. Most of our SC are automatic (selected in relationship set up to SC) but at times it would be handy. Could be tricky programming. You'd almost need a pop up like 'solicitor to credit with gift' as you'd have to select the record to SC. And I definitely would not want that pop up for every line in batch. The solicitor one drives me nuts as it is. If it were like an optional business rule. Just don't want to create more work by having to select the automatic SC record or say "no" to SC for every gift.

And, if that record is not already in RE, it would be nice to have an "Add New" button directly from the search screen. It's very inconvenient to have to get out of the batch to create the soft credit constituent!

This! This right here. We have to soft-credit for all sorts of things and therefore can't set up automatic soft crediting most of the time. If I could see soft credit just like I see any other field (i.e. fund, letter etc.) that would save me hours a day!

this would also be very handy for me when I have a large batch of specific gifts that all need to be soft credited to a single org - having it in the batch would allow a default SC instead of having to enter the same SC info for every gift.
