Yes, I just learned that, after I import updated addresses to my constituents (whose spouses have NO constituent ID of their own), I must go back for every couple, call up the non-constituent, stop the address sharing feature for them, go back to the Constituent's record, make a note of the ID, return to the non-constituent's record, then select Contituent /Copy/Share Address from Constituent, enter the Constituent's ID number, select the address to be shared, select OK, etc., etc. How does the import process save me time if I have to follow it up with this tedious manual process?
Are you talking about a spouse as a relationship or with their own record? You should be getting a pop-up with option to update for linked spouses with their own record. This post in similar subject: updating but not removing history.

Hi JoAnn,
I'm referencing a spouse as a relationship - no individual record.
