It would be nice to have a fuzzy data option that did not require year. There are many donors that will give us their birthdays, but only month and day. Currently, we enter this information as a constituentent note but it is not eaisly searchable. It is, however, preferred to entering false birth years in the date field.

Or enter the Year only! Maybe we don't have the actually birthdate but it is important to know the age and entering an approximate Year would do that. If I enter 1896 the date field turns that into 1/8/1996. If I enter 1/1/1896 then a Birthday card is sent to her on January 1.

WooHoo!!! We have the same problem - I've been using the default year of 1900 as clearly that is a dummy year - we send bday cards to all our constituents so all we really care about is the month and year. When you make the upgrade to BBRE can you also make it to MyCoH so that people are more likely to give us the month/day??

Would also be very nice to be able to sort (any date field) by month/day and disregard the year. I know I can query for birthdate in this month, disregarding the year, but I can't get them to sort so that they are in the right order and end up doing a lot of manipulation to get what I want.

We use the birth year of 9999 for when we don't know the year.
