Converting a non-constituent relationship to a constituent relationship.

Would like to be able to change an existing relationship between a constituent and non-constituent to one between two constituents, perhaps via global change or merge.

    Am confused, it need it to change one or even a few existing relationships, how/why would want to do it through global change? There is an option on the non-constituent record: Relationship > Add this individual as a constituent. If you were trying to do through a global change, how would RE know which relationship record one wanted to change. Process of merge is pretty much the opposite of separating them into 2 records.
    My thoughts anyway....

    We had to promote our nonconstituents to constituent relationships a year ago---blackbaud consultants helped us through via a plug-in.
