ConstituentID to be selectable (e.g. for copy-and-paste) even when "Edit Constituent ID" is set to false.

In Raiser's Edge 7.93, Blackbaud helpfully rolled out the functionality to protect the Constituent ID field, without hiding it, by setting the "Edit Constituent ID" permission to false.

However, doing this doesn't only prevent edits to the Constituent ID, it also means that it is no longer possible to select the contents of that field, e.g. to copy-and-paste it - which is very useful to avoid mis-keying when colleagues are adding ConstituentIDs to spreadsheets or import files.

Would it be possible to change the behaviour of this field when "Edit Constituent ID" is set to false, so that it is possible to select/copy the contents of the field, but not to change it? (As with an Access field set to Enabled=Yes Locked=Yes - the field can receive the focus, but it is not possible to change the contents.)

I agree! It was a great and necessary change to lock down the ID from being edited. But it's also very useful to be able to select and copy the ID. Please add this functionality!

I would like to vote to have the ConstituentID to be selectable again. This is SO useful and a function I really miss.

I would also like to have the ConstituentID be selectable again. This is a major drawback to the latest update, as it significantly increases the likelihood of mis-keying the numbers since we now have to type them in manually.

I would like to be able to use Alt and Tab to flick between sub-windows both in and outside of RE!

I would like to be able to select the information on the gift tab and copy and paste it straight into MS excel

It would be useful for all fields that cannot be changed to be able to be copied, this would help when using IOM as the lines come up as an exception if there is a little spelling mistake etc because it has to be manually entered and cannot be copied & pasted

We just switched to Raiser's Edge from Banner and it's taking me extra time to communicate updates to our database staff because I can't copy and past Constituent ID. I end up having to write down the information and retype it into an email. I really miss the ability to copy and paste text that is grayed out.
