Access letters for edits without having a gift that meets the criteria before opening the mail merge wizard

It would be great to be albe to edit letters that are set up in Mail without having a gift that meets the criteria before opening the letter in mail merge wizard. This would be helpful when making yearly updates to acknowledgement letters.

      I have been using RE for 10 years and this is one of the most annoying things I have came across.  Why this has never been sorted is beyond me.

      Yes, yes, yes. I find creating and editing letters one of the most un-user friendly aspects of RE!

      This would be wonderful for when Thank You letters need to be update each Fiscal Year.

      I agree! We're updating our acknowledgement letters, which hasn't been done in a long time. And currently all of our gifts are acknowledged. I know I can mark a gift as not acknowledged or enter a fake gifts, but both require additional steps and clean-up. It would be nice if we could just access them.
